Pitches Starting!
Pitches are about to start! After the welcome note at 12:00pm CST, the hackathon judges will watch your pitches and demos to determine the winners of the Bitcoin Bankathon.
How it works:
In-person
Each team will have 3 minutes to pitch their idea to the judges. You will have the opportunity to connect your phone or laptop to the screen and demo your solution live.
After your 3 minutes are up, the judges will have 2 minutes to ask you questions about your project. You can expect to answer 2 or 3 questions during this time.

We’re holding a Solidity workshop on Saturday 27 November at 11am CST / 6pm CET. If you've never built a smart contract app before and you'd like to, this is a great opportunity to get hands-on! You're going to learn how to build a simple contract-based application using Solidity.

Prize update
We would like to communicate a change in the awards.
The best overall product will still receive $50,000 in bitcoin, while the production support will become a potential grant of up to $100,000 USD to help foster especially noteworthy projects that are commercially viable.
The other awards remain the same:
- Best use of off-chain data: $50,000 in bitcoin
- Best use of advanced technology: $25,000 in bitcoin
- Most visionary concept: $15,000 in bitcoin
- Social media hero: $10,000 in bitcoin

Submission period extended + Join our Live Session!
To make sure we're delivering the best hackathon experience, we've extended the submission period to 8 December. The hackathon will now run from 19 November to 8 December.
As a result, the physical part of the hackathon – including in-person pitches and winners’ announcement – will happen on 6, 7, and 8 December.
Make sure to make a note if you want to attend in El Salvador!
Please note: For those of you who asked, you don't need to attend physically to be eligible for a prize. You’ll be able to participate in our online streaming sessions instead!
